Dr. Ron Dembo is the Founder and CEO of Zerofootprint, a cleantech software and services company that makes environmental impact measurable, visible and manageable for businesses, governments, institutions and individuals. Zerofootprint’s solutions mitigate environmental risk and drive cost reductions through behavioural change.
Dr. Dembo is also the founder and former CEO of Algorithmics Incorporated, growing it from a start-up to the world’s largest enterprise risk-management software company, with offices in fifteen countries, over 70% of the world’s top 100 banks as clients, and consistent recognition as one of Canada’s 50 best managed companies. Prior to this, he had a distinguished ten-year academic career at Yale University where he was cross-appointed in Computer Sciences and Operations Research.
In May 2007, Dr. Dembo was made a lifetime Fields Institute Fellow. This fellowship is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Fields Institute, its programs, and to the Canadian mathematical community. He has authored over sixty technical papers on finance and mathematical optimization and three books, and holds a number of patents in Computational Finance and Software for Climate Change.
He currently sits on a number of boards and is a member of the Climate Change Adaptation Advisory Committee Canada and the UN HABITAT World Urban Campaign Steering Committee.
Chief Technology Officer
Chris Sivalingam is Responsible for all aspects of overall technology vision, Thought Leadership, R&D, Product Management, Commercial Software Development and Professional Services at Zerofootprint. Chris is spearheading the product vision, next generation technology strategy and solution delivery approach.
Prior to Zerofootprint, Chris provided strategy & lead architecture support in developing the Loblaw’s retail loyalty program (PC Plus), expected to support over 12 Million users with multi-channel (POS, Web, Mobile, IVR & Call Center) end-user enablement.
In 2011, Chris Founded GridCentral. He designed and developed a ‘Smart’ energy management solution for energy consumption, generation, and distribution purposes, targeting commercial & industrial applications. Chris helped develop a product roadmap for GridCentral. This included Smart Energy Consumption and Management, Occupancy Based Climate and Lighting Controls, Sub-metering and Billing & Power Stabilization, and Surge Protection & Smart Grid & Power Distribution Management.
Prior to GridCentral, Chris established & directed the enterprise architecture department at LoyaltyOne. At LoyaltyOne, Chris was responsible for implementing the Enterprise Architecture methodology and discipline. Under Chris’s architecture leadership LoyaltyOne re-platformed & replaced over 90% of the LoyaltyOne’s IT systems that supported Travel & Retail management as well as end-user facing channels – POS, Web, Mobile, IVR & Call Center channels. He also designed the LoyaltyOne’s next generation loyalty platform to replace the aging mainframe based legacy system that supported over 15 Million users.

Antony Marcil has built award winning sustainability programs in virtually every industry sector and in more than 100 countries around the world. As Executive Vice President of Zerofootprint, Antony is dedicated to finding attractive growth opportunities by developing key business relationships and implementing our go-to-market strategy.
In the past 20 years, Antony served as the CEO of the World Environment Center and as CEO of Forest Stewardship Council Canada, focusing on areas such as energy and resource efficiency, environment, health and safety, accident prevention, response and mitigation, environmentally-driven tax reform, and responsible forestry. In 1997, Antony was named to the first, worldwide list of the Top 100 Figures in Environment, Sustainable Development and Social Issues by The Earth Times, a publication associated with the United Nations in New York and Geneva.
Previously, Antony headed Hoyles Niblock Overseas Limited, a Canadian telecommunications consulting engineering company in Iran, the Consulting arm of Interimco Limited in Ottawa and Permawick International N.V., a lubricants and automatic assembly equipment manufacturing company in Belgium.
Among his many talents, Antony speaks French, Spanish and Farsi. His recent awards include the 2011 Clean50TM and Clean16TM Natural Resources Leader, the 2008 PrintAction Environmental Innovator Gold Award and the 2008 PrintAction magazine Readers’ Choice Canada’s Ten Most Influential People in Graphic Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A.
Director of Sales
Geoff is the Director of Sales for Zerofootprint, and a passionate advocate for sustainability. Previous to Zerofootprint, Geoff’s cleantech skills were applied in the lighting industry as the Director of Sales for Encelium, a software-based lighting control system used to maximize energy savings in commercial buildings. When Encelium was acquired by Osram Sylvania, Geoff’s role expanded to include sales for Traxon Technologies and the Projects and Solutions division of Osram for the Canadian market.
From a technical perspective, Geoff’s background was as a Senior Mechanical Designer at Dynacon Inc., a medical automation and controls company, before moving on to manage the customer support department there. He is a graduate of McMaster University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management and is a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario.
Other than sustainability, and family, Geoff’s other passions are international development and music. He is the co-founder and past-president of the Toronto Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders and has visited Africa and Central America on development trips. On the music front, he is an active singer/songwriter and would be flattered if you asked to listen to his music.
