Dr. Ron Dembo is the Founder and CEO of Zerofootprint, a company targeting massive
positive social and behavioral change. Prior to Zerofootprint, Dr. Dembo was the Founder
and CEO of Algorithmics Inc., growing it from a start-up to the world’s largest enterprise
risk software company until it was sold to Fitch in 2005 and then IBM in 2012. Algorithmics
was recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed companies during his tenure.
He had a distinguished 10-year academic career at Yale University.Dr. Dembo began his career as
a Professor of Operations Research and Computer Science at Yale University. He sits on a
number of boards and was honored as a lifetime Fields Institute Fellow for his contribution
to Canadian Mathematics in 2007. Dr. Dembo has authored three books and over 60

A seasoned change agent (formerly Director of Digital at Aveda Canada) that employs resourcefulness, experience and talent in innovative ways through his work as VP of all things Creative, Marketing and Communications at Zerofootprint. His experience in branding, design, marketing and communications combined with a passion for combining data, technology and the power of the Tribe to advance social purpose—helps us do the kind of work that benefits our planet and the people that live on it. When not saving the world, Richard loves to spend quality time with his family and get better acquainted with his guitar.
Director, Client Services
Prior to joining the company in 2014, Jonathan worked to make cities more sustainable, liveable, resilient and competitive – first as Director of Energy Networks with the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, based in London, UK and then as a member of the Environment & Innovation Team with Waterfront Toronto. Jonathan is trained as a lawyer and has experience in corporate/commercial law, previously working with the Toronto law firm of Aird & Berlis LLP. When not in the office, Jonathan can be found exploring downtown Toronto by bike, eating good food and drinking good drinks.
VP, Business Development
Joey Barr is leading Zerofootprint’s expansion into the United States. Before joining our team. Joey was an Expert Program Manager at Pacific Gas and Electric where he led the company’s Proposition 39 and schools strategy, supporting energy efficiency in schools across California. He also worked on PG&E’s lighting team, where he led programs to introduce energy efficient lighting products to market and to influence consumers’ purchasing behaviors.
Previously, Joey worked in real estate development with Toll Brothers, where he helped lead a new division outside of Washington DC and worked on land deals worth $2 billion. Joey helped found a clean energy startup that focused on sequestering atmospheric carbon dioxide and transforming it into a liquid synthetic fuel. Joey holds an MBA from the Berkeley Haas Business School with a concentration in clean energy.

Former Chief Marketing Officer at Recyclebank; Director of Marketing at Nike & co-founder of Nau, a sustainable outdoor apparel company. Ian currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Purpose, who create 21st century movements, building mass digital participation designed to help solve some of the world’s biggest problems. Ian has extensive entrepreneurial and executive level leadership experience. He has been instrumental in building and stewarding highly successful brands that have defined and differentiated themselves based on their strong commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Prior to joining Zerofootprint, Justin held progressive sales & business development management roles implementing successful sales strategies and developing innovative business concepts in the healthcare, finance, and renewable energy sectors. He is currently completing his MBA, graduating fall 2014, having recently written a research paper “Marketing Healthy Lifestyle Choices”.
